Geothermal
In addition to designing, installing, and servicing conventional HVAC systems in North Myrtle Beach homes and businesses, Martin Heat & Air also offers an alternative heating and cooling system that has virtually 100% customer satisfaction for 30 years.
How Geothermal Works
Unlike traditional HVAC systems that use the air above ground, geothermal heating and cooling systems exchange heat with the ground. Geothermal pipes are buried underground and work with a heat pump inside the home, rather than relying on a noisy fan on the outside of the home and coil on the inside.
The heat pump works much less since the ground avoids extreme fluctuations in temperature, which lowers electricity costs and improves home comfort levels. Geothermal is known for providing better temperature control and moisture removal in the summer and warmer temperatures than a conventional heat pump in the winter.
Energy Savings with Geothermal
While the initial investment of Geothermal can be higher than a conventional system, seeing immediate savings of up to 70% on utility bills paired with a potential 55% tax credit quickly make up that difference. Plus, geothermal units are built to last longer than traditional air-to-air systems with an average lifespan of 20-25 years.
